Did you know that aside from the oil and gas industry, the fashion industry is the world’s most polluting? And do you know which brands stand out as the good guys and the bad guys with regards to environmental and social responsibility? With this blog we wish to inform and inspire the fashionista, who cares about the footprint of the fashion industry on the planet and its people, and who wants her wardrobe to be as sustainable as possible without compromising her style.
Behind the blog is 3 Copenhagen-based women each passionated about sustainable fashion in their different way. Meet them here:
Stine has a deep interest in sustainability and fashion. With this blog she combines the two in an attempt to make a transition of the fashion industry. She took over the main responsibility of running the blog in 2015 from Katrine Damgaard, who started the blog in 2014. Besides the blog she is studying an engineering master in Sustainable Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen, is a part time research assistant at ‘Sustainable Production 3.0’ and part time Sustainability guide at the Municipality of Frederiksberg.
Dorte has a deep interest in contributing to a sustainable transition of the society and also of the fashion industry. Every link of the production chain of clothes has a severe bad impact on human and the environment, which Dorte believes could be reduced by legislation, consumer mentality change and awareness. She is studying an engineering master in Sustainable Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen and has recently been in Australia at James Cook University to specialize further in sustainable transition.
Nathalie has a passion for timeless and vintage fashion, which also is a part of the transition towards a sustainable fashion industry. Besides the blog, she is studying Danish Literature at Copenhagen University.
